Monitoring the Organic Matter Quality Highlights the Ways in Which Organic Matter Is Removed from Wetland Soil

چکیده
It has long been considered that ferric phases stabilize organic matter (OM) in soils. Temporarily waterlogged soils, which Fe is submitted to regular reductive solubilization and oxidizing precipitation, have often used study these processes. However, few studies interested the evolution of OM quality under such conditions. We therefore experimentally investigated impact a redox cycle on dissolved (DOM) from wetland soil. The DOM was monitored using combination analyses run elements (%C, %N, C/N), isotopes (?15N, ?13C), optical index (specific UV absorbance at 254 nm), fluorescence indexes (FI, HIX, BIX). In addition, cation anion concentrations were also determined soil solutions throughout experiment. As classically demonstrated, solubilized as terrestrial aromatic molecules first stage reducing period, then nonaromatic until end reduction, response dissimilatory dissolution Fe-oxyhydroxides More interestingly, we demonstrate reintroduction O2 involves significant lysis bacterial cells involving production small labile carbon represents pathway for degradation. Moreover, physical constraints, newly formed Fe-OM precipitates produce aggregates rich are expected disseminate environment, representing second way remove OM.

Organic Carbon and Organic Matter Levels in Sediments of the Strait of Hormoz, the Persian Gulf
Total organic carbon has a major influence on both the chemical and biological processesthat take place in sediments. Algal bloom is one of the organic carbon levels in aquatic ecosystems. In 2009 algal bloom occurred in the Hormozgan province and prolonged for months, which finally setteled down in 2010. In this study the variations of total organic carbon (TOC), organic matter (TOM) and tot...
متن کاملIs resistant soil organic matter more sensitive to temperature than the labile organic matter?
A recent paper by Knorr et al. (2005a) suggested that the decomposition of resistant soil organic matter is more temperature sensitive than labile organic matter. In Knorr et al.’s (2005a) model, the reference decay rate was presumed to be same for all pools of soil carbon. We refit Knorr et al.’s (2005a) model but allow both the activation energy and the reference decay rate to vary among soil...
متن کاملMonitoring of organic matter and soil salinity by using IRS - LissIII satellite data in the Harat plain, of Yazd province
Current study monitored Electerical Conductivity (EC) as soil salinity index and Organic Matter (OM) in the area of Harat in Yazd, Iran, through remote sensing technology with high spatial and spectral resolution. The images were selected from IRS, LISS III satellites between the years 2008 and 2012. After preprocessing and analyzing the images, the relationship between parameters of (EC) an...
متن کاملSoil Organic Matter Quality From Soils Cropped by Traditional Peasants
In this work we have analyzed soil samples from Oxisols collected from two traditional communities, one formed by Guarany Indians at South of Brazil and other by African descendants on North of Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil. The content and fractional composition of humus was investigated and the isolated humic acids (HAs) were characterized by elemental composition, C solid-state nuclear magnet...
متن کاملAssessment of water quality in the Wiśniówka River considering circulation of organic matter
Variation of hydrochemical conditions, with special reference to adequacy of waters as fish habitats, was traced based on selected hydrochemical parameters obtained during the studies conducted from February 2013 till February 2014 year. The results were compared with earlier studies. The sources of organic pollution were identified, and the effect of biogenic substances on the biomass, as well...
